ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS
Monika Kulisz, (Ph.D. Eng.) is an academic and researcher, currently holding the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Enterprise Organization at the Lublin University of Technology. In September 2016, she received her Ph.D. in the field of mechanical engineering and operations. Her scientific contributions are substantial and reflect her active involvement in a variety of projects that showcase her expertise in areas such as neural networks, applied mathematics, and complex systems design. Notably, she served as the project manager for a 2021-2022 National Science Center project focused on magnesium alloy research. Her commitment to the academic community is evidenced by her ongoing participation in numerous national scientific conferences, where she has served as a committee member. Of particular note is her role as co-organizer of the International Conference of Computational Methods in Engineering Science (CMES) since 2016. In recent years, her research has focused on modeling and prediction of phenomena and processes using artificial neural networks in contexts where such methods are less commonly used, such as quality management in manufacturing, analysis and prediction in manufacturing processes, and environmental engineering.
Katarzyna Biruk-Urban, (Ph.D. Eng.) is an academic and researcher, currently holding the position of an Assistant Professor at the Department of Production Engineering at the Lublin University of Technology. In 2014 by the decision of the Scientific Discipline Council of Mechanical Engineering of the Lublin University of Technology received a doctoral degree in the discipline of mechanical engineering. The doctoral dissertation concerned the study of the properties of epoxy adhesives modified with high degree of granularity fillers. She has 12 years of industrial experience working in the aviation industry in the field of construction and aviation safety. In her scientific work, she focuses on issues related to the machining of different types of composite materials. She cooperates with researchers in the field of optimization of machining processes using ANN. She is a co-author of scientific publications in reputable scientific journals indexed in leading databases.
