ItAF LOC must be capable to perform and deliver the following activities/services:
- • Assessment and monitoring of the Autonomic Logistics Global Sustainment and the F-35 Air System performance to determine whether it is meeting ItAF’s requirements;
- • Retain final responsibility for the continuing airworthiness and the ‘as–maintained’ configuration of their fleets;
- • Assess and improve maintenance procedures;
- • Control of aircraft and manpower allocation and all aircraft related equipment owned and used;
- • Control of the readiness of the ItAF F-35 fleet; for that, it must have full visibility over sustainment costs;
- • Control over requirements of national supply chain management.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Major General Fabio MOLTENI is the Deputy Commander of the Air Force Logistic Command, Rome since may 2018.
The General is a native of Rome. He joined the Air Force in 1974 and graduated from the Italian Air Force Academy (Course "Pegaso 3rd"), Pozzuoli, Naples in 1978.
After completing the Flight Training School at Amendola he was appointed Military Pilot, ranking first in his class. He has served in many Air Force Units such as the 9th air defense squadron (as squadron commander), flight test wing (RSV) as Experimental Test Pilot, the 14th wing (as wing commander). He also served in many Staff assignments at the Air Force General Staff in the Logistics and Operations Divisions and in the 2nd Division, Air Force Logistic Command. He was also the Commander of the Joint Test and Training Range of Salto di Quirra, Sardinia, witch is part of the Air Force Logistic Command, and Deputy Chief of the IV Department, J4, Italian Defence General Staff (IDGS), Rome. He was also the Commander of the 2nd Division, Air Force Logistic Command, Rome. Before assuming his current position General Molteni was, for the last six years, the Commander of the Experimental Flight Center of the Italian Air Force, Pratica di Mare Airport (Rome).
Major General Molteni is married to Carla and they have one daughter and one son.
